Star Wars bosses announce another THREE films with The Last Jedi director

Star Wars bosses have confirmed another three films set in George Lucas' sci-fi universe. Rian Johnson, who directed the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi , has been signed up for an all-new trilogy. That's on top of Last Jedi, next May's Han Solo spin-off movie, and 2019's as-yet untitled "Episode IX'. The three new films will take the number of full-length films up to 14 - after the
original trilogy from 1977-1983, the prequel trilogy from 1999-2005, 2015's Force Awakens, and 2016's Rogue One. There's also a host of animated series, spin-off novels and computer games.
Disney are also looking to create a live-action TV series, according to reports from Variety. Speaking about the new trilogy, Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy said: “We all loved working with Rian on The Last Jedi. "He’s a creative force, and watching him craft The Last Jedi from start to finish was one of the great joys of my career. Rian will do amazing things with the blank canvas of this new trilogy.”
