Three die, others injured in Bauchi-Jos road crash

Three people died while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a crash involving an Opel Vectra car and a Ford Galaxy Bus along the Bauchi-Jos Road.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Bauchi State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed, in a statement on Sunday, said the Opel Vectra, coming from Jos, veered off its lane and collided with the other vehicle moving in the opposite direction.

He explained that both vehicles skidded off the road and somersaulted.
Mohammed, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, added, “On Sunday), at about 8.30am, there was a fatal motor vehicle accident involving an Opel Vectra, Ash in colour with number plate AG 277 DNG, driven by one Muktar Isah, male, (20) of Magama Gumau in Toro LGA and a Ford Galaxy bus, Blue in Colour with number plate KWK 233 XA, driven by one Inspector Bilat Samaila, Male, (46) of 13PMF Makurdi.
“Accident occurred when the Opel Vectra coming from Jos and heading towards Bauchi, left his lane and collided with the Ford Galaxy Bus. As a result, both vehicles skidded off the Road and somersaulted.

“Three victims were certified dead by a medical doctor while three others, who sustained varying degrees of injuries, are responding to treatment.”
