An absolute beginner who accidentally entered a poker tournament has bagged a prize of £52,000 in his first game - after entering by accident.
Christian Pham, from St Paul, Minnesota intended to enter the Texas Hold 'Em game with an entry limit of £966 when he went to the World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas.
But it was only when the Vietnamese-born pro who lives in Minnesota sat down and was dealt the wrong number of cards that he realised his mistake.

"I thought I had registered for the $1,500 limit hold 'em," he explained to Poker News. "I would've unregistered if I knew what the event was.

"When I got to the table, and I got dealt five cards, I realised something was wrong."
In fact, Christian was playing 'the no-limit deuce-seven lowball' - a game he had never even heard of.
He says he had to fold his first seven hands but, when he called a huge bluff, he bagged 100,000 chips and became the leader.
Call it skill or beginner's luck, but Christian learned the game from his competitors and blew the competition away, landing the top prize of £52,345.
He says he's a convert from now on: "In the future for sure I will register for this game. I love it now."
