Edo police parade 81 suspected criminals

No fewer than 81 suspects, including one Festus Aimufua accused of killing an Austria-based woman, were on Friday paraded by the Edo State Police Command.

Aimufua was arrested by the police on December 25, 2014, following the death of one Rose Aifuwa, who was said to have been knocked down by the suspect before her body was found at Upper Mission Extension Junction along the Benin-Auchi Expressway in Benin.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Foluso Adebanjo, told journalists that Aimufua confessed that he killed the woman with his Honda Accord car marked UG 230 AAA.

Adebanjo, however, said the suspect would be charged to court after investigation.

But the 41-year-old suspect said he killed the woman by accident under the influence of alcohol.

He said, “I saw her in front of my vehicle, but two boys were dragging her off the vehicle. So, I was looking for a way to move. I thought I found a way; that was how I zoomed off.”
